BSc (Hons) Psych, PgDip (Clin Hyp), MBPsS, MBSCH
Hi, my name is Mark Leahy and I’m a Clinical Hypnotherapist based in Bedford.
I use hypnosis to help people from all walks of life, professional backgrounds and ages, quickly and successfully overcome issues like weight and anxiety disorders, stress, low self-esteem, phobias and anger, amongst others.
My approach is straightforward: whilst respecting and using traditional methods, I also tailor the best of a variety of very modern techniques to suit your individual needs and help you to take full control of your thoughts, feelings and behaviours so that you can finally live the happy and fulfilling life you deserve.
Mark D. Leahy BSc (Hons) Psych, PgDip (Clin Hyp), MBPsS, MBSCH
I qualified in Clinical Hypnotherapy at the London College of Clinical Hypnosis with Distinction at both Post-graduate Certificate (PgCert) and Post-graduate Diploma (PgDip) levels, awarded by the University of West London.
With a First-class Honours degree in Psychology, I am a Graduate Member of the British Psychological Society (BPS) and a Member of the British Society of Clinical Hypnosis (BSCH) where I am registered as a Clinical Hypnotherapist.
I am also registered with the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC). CNHC's register is approved as an Accredited Register by the Professional Standards Authority for Health and Social Care (PSA). General Medical Council guidance to doctors confirms that they are able to refer patients to practitioners on Accredited Registers.
Additionally, I’m an Anxiety UK Approved Therapist providing therapeutic support to the charity’s members and partner beneficiaries. I am subject to Anxiety UK’s regular monitoring of my professional qualifications, supervision, continual professional development, insurance and professional body membership, in addition to complying with the ethical framework and professional standards set down by my governing body (The British Society of Clinical Hypnosis).
My Volunteer Work
I’m a volunteer 1-to-1 Mentor with Mind BLMK (Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes), a brilliant charity that offers a range of services aimed at meeting individual needs and promoting mental health recovery, wellbeing and independence.
As a volunteer mentor, I was trained by Mind BLMK to support individuals with mental wellbeing needs, helping them to create action plans and work positively towards agreed goals.
Volunteer mentors are carefully selected for their interpersonal and communication skills and receive formal training certified by the Open College Network.
